Rabbit Easter Egg Warmer
Do you need any Easter egg decoration ideas? A couple of days ago I made these cute Easter Egg Warmers shaped as hens. I experimented a little further with the form and made a similar version, now in the shape of a Easter rabbit.
This is a free sewing pattern for an Easter Rabbit Egg Warmer. The below list covers materials for one rabbit. They are a breeze to sew with the provided cut out templates at the bottom of this tutorial. Seam allowance is included.
- 20 cm – 8 inches cotton fabric for rabbit body
- 20 cm – 8 inches interfacing
- Felt fabric in: Black, white, light brown and pink
- Sewing thread
Step 1 Cut out paper templates from the PDF file and then cut out two body parts for the rabbit body from the cotton fabric. You need to cut them mirror shaped, so you get a front and a back part, if your fabric has a wrong and a right side. Seam allowance is included. Cut out the mouths, eyes and ears for each side from felt fabric or different colored cotton fabrics.
Step 2 Cut out two interfacings shaped the same as the rabbit body.
Step 3 Glue eyes, ears and mouths on top of the cotton fabric.
Step 4 Place interfacing on wrong sides of body parts. (You can iron these onto the fabric now).
Step 5 Stack these 4 parts on top of each other, so the right sided fabric are facing outside.
Step 6 Sew all around at the edges of the rabbit with a tight overlock stitch on your sewing machine.
Step 7 Push the bottom fabric inside the rabbit, so it forms a pouch at the inside.
Step 7 Optional: Make a pompon as a tail and glue it to the rabbit. (This is not shown on the photos.)
Your pretty Easter rabbit decorations are done, ready to get showcased at the Easter table or placed in a window :-)
