Reindeer Coaster
Christmas is getting dangerously close and I’m in the mood for crocheting something for the holidays.
A couple of weeks ago I felted a crochet bag shaped like a fox and I am still in animal mode;-). This weekend pictures of Rudolph pillows, ceramics, slippers, costumes and more were studied on Google. My humble contribution to the Rudolph reindeer theme is the above free crochet pattern for a felted coaster.
Materials
Yarn Istex Plötulopi, 100% wool unspun, 100g-3,53 ounces/300m-328 yards. 1 skein in brown, red and dark brown were used.
Hook 8mm and 3,5mm US: K/10,5 and E/4
Tapestry Needle
Finished size
18cm/7inches diameter.
Skill Level
Easy
Gauge
4inch x 4inch 10cm x 10cm = 10stitches x 6 rows
Pattern
The coaster is worked double stranded. The appliquéd chains are crocheteded with a single strand of yarn.
It is crocheted as a circle and the eyes and the antlers are sewn onto the face before felting.

It’s absolutely amazing! What a great idea for a holiday table decor! I will definitely take note of it. I have already had a collection of Christmas coasters. This one should definitely be included there.
