Japanese Crochet Shawl
Pattern Free pattern from the Pierrot website. Pattern can be seen here as a PDF file. I don’t understand why this pattern has so few finished projects on Ravelry. The pattern is very easy to follow and the result is just more than pretty.
Yarn Rowan: 5 skeins Rowan Fine Milk Cotton in the shade Barley Sugar.
Hook 3 mm
I completely fell in love with this Japanese crochet shawl, when I saw it the first time on Rakuten’s website. The Fine Milk Cotton was great to work with and it is very soft against the skin.
The pattern is in Japanese, but comes with a complete crochet chart, so no Japanese knowledge is required :-) The body of the pattern is a crochet mesh stitch. I omitted some flower like crochet shapes in that section of the shawl. The edges drape very nicely – also at the corners of the scarf. For the pattern to come out right, I wet blocked the the whole shawl.
