Flourish Crochet Scarf
by Kim Hargreaves
Pattern The Flourish Scarf was bought as a kit from Kim Hargreaves. It is also a crochet pattern in the book Heartfelt – The Dark House Collection. I am not sure if the book is still available. You might be able to buy the book at antiques sellers.
Yarn 4 x 25 g Rowan, Kidsilk Haze in the shade Trance.
Hook 9 mm US: 13/M
When I first saw this stunning scarf on Kim Hargreave’s website I had to learn how to crochet! – Bought the kit, and thank Goddess there was a great “how to crochet” instruction included with the yarn and pattern.
So this is my first crochet piece ever. The last round with the beads felt endless…. Unfortunately the 4 balls Kidsilk Haze were not enough and I had to buy 2 more. The new yarn was not the exact same color (because the balls came from a different dye lot). But I think that makes the scarf look more rich and not so flat colorwise.
Unfortunately the colors don’t come out right when using flash. The scarf is really very rich and scrumptious to look at and I always get many gazes when wearing it. When spring comes I’ll probably make a very pale pink one – this is my Hermes scarf ;-)
